It's been a while, hasn't it? Well, that's ok because we've got a lot of updates to talk about. Most of these have been effective on the site fora couple weeks now. A few may or may not be active when this article gets posted, but they'll certainly be applied in the next couple of days. Without further ado, here's the change list in chronological order:

  • added bomfire integration
  • fixed project downloads so they follow oProject v0.2
  • allow projects to be uploaded in oProject v0.2
  • fixed an issue that caused millions of duplicate db entries to be made due to some db transactions being asynchronous
  • change appearance of the parts table
  • stop cropping project images so they now display as the user intended
  • added markdown support
  • fixed gallery images getting pushed up when the lead project image is tall and narrow

Bomfire.com is a really cool service that helps your source parts by telling you where you should buy your parts based on how many parts you need for your kit and how many kits you're planning on building. We now automatically show the bomfire.com estimate for how much every single project costs and give a link to the bomfire page where you can quickly purchase all of a project's parts.

You can now upload your projects in oProject v0.2 format! The easiest way to get started with oProject is to download a project from the website and use it as a template. oProject is based on XML, so it's not hard to pick up and start modifying a project.

Markdown is now supported in some text boxes with a small caveat. In order to use markdown, you must put the string "%m*d%" (without the *) somewhere in your text. This flag lets the server know that it should interpret your text as markdown instead of html.
